Dental Anomalies of Toothed Whale Specimens Collection Stored at Natural History Museum of National Science Museum, Thailand

Dental anomalies were observed in cleaned skeleton of toothed whale specimens stored at Natural History Museum of National Science Museum, Thailand. The examined materials of 10 specimens comprise 3 species of delphinidae and 1 species of phocoenidae. Teeth specimens were virtually inspected and photographed under the digital microscope. Diagnosis of lesions and anomalies followed literatures description. The dental anomalies observed in 7 out of 10 specimens could be described as discoloration, dental caries, erosion, dental calculus, enamel extension, and concrescence tooth. The etiology of the describing dental pathologic condition is discussed, particularly on the infection of teeth which is less known in toothed whale.
