บทคัดย่อ

Historically this species was considered restricted to Myanmar and Thailand, however, recently specimens have been recorded from Mizoram, northern India and it is considered likely that surveys will also find it in intervening regions of India (Pawar and Biswas 2001). This species has also been recorded from Vietnam (Vassilieva et al. 2016), Laos (based on museum records held in the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the Field Museum - B. Stuart pers. comm. 2018) and Cambodia (Grismer 2011, Vassilieva et al. 2016), although Vietnam is not included in the distribution given by Grismer (2011). In Peninsular Malaysia, it is known from Pulau Langkawi, Kedah (Dring 1979, Chan-ard et al. 1999, Grismer 2011), the Seribuat Archipelago (where it is found on Pulau Sibu and Pulau Tioman - Grismer et al. 2006); and in the Perhentian Archipelago (Pulau Perhentian Besar, Terengganu and Pulau Redang, Terenganu - Grismer et al. 2011, Grismer 2011). In Thailand, it is present throughout the country except for the Khorat plateau (M. Cota pers. comm. 2017). It is found up to elevations of 1,000 m asl. Ptychozoon lionotum is listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, tolerance of a broad range of habitats including modified environments, and because of its lack of widespread major threats. Further research into the range of this species is suggested, in order to establish its full distribution.
