บทคัดย่อ
This species is endemic to Khao Song in Surat Thani Province, southern peninsular Thailand. (Pauwels et al. 2004, Chan-ard et al. 2015). Listed as Near Threatened on the basis that this species is endemic to a single cave and possible future threats exist from both uncontrolled domestic or feral cats, and development. Observations that the species is reliably found in surveys suggest that the population may presently be stable, and the area is not sufficiently attractive for development for this to be considered a plausible future threat sufficient to drive the species to Critically Endangered or Extinct, and any ongoing or future impacts of feral animals are presently speculative. As such the species is close to but does not fully qualify for listing as Vulnerable applying criterion D2.
