Molecular and morphological evidence for a significant range extension of Bronchocela burmana Blanford, 1878 to eastern Thailand

Four specimens of Bronchocela burmana Blanford were collected and photographed in the field at three localities, fixed in 10% buffered formalin, transferred to 70% ethanol, and deposited in the Natural History Museum, National Science Museum, Thailand, Pathum Thani, Thailand (THNHM). Herein, the authors use a small fragment of mitochondrial DNA recovered from one formalin-fixed specimen, and morphology of four specimens, to show that the Trat and Chanthaburi populations in Thailand should be referred to as B. burmana. These records extend the range of B. burmana eastward across the Gulf of Thailand to near the Cambodian border.
