บทคัดย่อ
By reviewing the recent reports and suveyring in the field in evey two-month, the study on herpetofaunal diversity and biography in Khao Luang National Park, Nakhon Si Thmmarat Province was carred on all the year round between May 2003 and April 2004. We summaized the species richness of amphibians and reptiles in 34 and 88, with a list of all known animals in studied sites and adjacent areas. Dealing with analysis of their biogeographical range, we had compared their similarities with those of several areas wih locating in different latitudinal ranges and utilized the occurances of the index species for final decision. It finally revealed that the similarity indices of the animals in Khao Luang war closer to those of Phang-nga and NArathiwat, but far different from those of Petchaburi, Chiang Mai, khon Ratchasiam and Chanthaburi. Certainly confirmed that the biogeographical range of Khao Luang in more in the Malayan Division of the Sundaic Sub-region than the Indochinese Division of the Indochinese Sub-region.
